A choice between ... oh wait, they just redrew the lines so I don’t actually get a choice. The person up for election already chose for me. That’s much more efficient I guess.

I do wonder if secret ballots can persist in an era of decreasing trust (on both sides, and not always without cause). I think we may reach a point where being able to verify that your ballot was tallied correctly may outweigh the benefit of keeping them entirely confidential. I would feel better if I got a voting receipt that could be verified against official tallies online.
